1. Read The D&D Beyond Basic Rules
These rules are free to access and will give you a primer on how to play D&D 2024e. Take a chance to read through and familiarize yourself with the Playing The Game section before your first session.
2. Read The D&D Adventurers League Player’s Guide
These rules help players manage, advance, and create characters for use in the D&D Adventurers League organized play program.
3. Create Your Character
Pre-Generated Characters
NOTE: If this is your first time joining us at Kismet, you will choose from a selection of pre-generated level 1 characters at the venue for your first quest.
To continue playing a pre-gen after your first session, you can convert them to an AL character. Or transfer earned rewards to an existing PC in the same campaign and tier, retiring the pre-gen.
AL Characters
All characters created for Adventurers League must follow specific guidelines, which can be found in the D&D Adventurers League Players Guide.
Using the Forgotten Realms (FR) campaign setting, follow the character creation rules in the PH (2024) or Basic Rules (2024), or the noted non-updated options in the PH 2014, and “Additional Character Options”. Guidelines and restrictions are in the above Players Guide.
Adventurers League characters generally start at level 1. Alternately, with the DM’s permission, you may join with a new character starting play at level 5, depending on the tier of quests being played.
4. Register For A Quest
Once you have everything prepared, it is time to register for a quest with the Kismet Adventuring Society.
NOTE: It is important to pre-register for your event to ensure you have reserved a seat at the table. Please join the waitlist if registrations are full. Walk-ins can only be accommodated after registrations and waitlist.
